RESOLUTION 2000-077
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT THE
SEW ARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER UPLAND BOAT WORKS
POLICY AS REVISED
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council approved adoption of the Seward Marine Industrial
Center Upland Boat Work Policy at their June 26, 2000 regular meeting; and
WHEREAS, the policy was brought forward for reconsideration at the July 10,2000 regular
meeting where the motion to reconsider failed; and
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council desired minor revisions to the policy which include
deleting the reference to the percentage of hull replacement and rephrasing the duty of the
Harbormaster to state that he will determine what constitutes maintenance and repair versus major
construction activities; and
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council directed the administration to reschedule the policy
as revised for the June 24, 2000 regular meeting agenda:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to implement the Seward Marine Industrial
Center Upland Boat Works Policy as revised, in substantial form as attached hereto, and to make
such changes to the attached policy as necessary to finalize the policy but without changing the
substantive terms as described in the attached policy.
Section 2. The Administration has forty-five days prior to implementing this policy.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 24 day
of July, 2000.
