RESOLUTION 2000-091
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, SETTING GARBAGE AND REFUSE SERVICE RATES AND
CHARGES AND RESCINDING ALL PRIOR RESOLUTIONS IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS, the City's contractor for collection and disposal of garbage and refuse,
Peninsula Sanitation Company, Inc. (PSI), has requested that the City review and approve new
tariff rates and charges; and
WHEREAS, the last time the garbage and refuse rates were changed was in 1991; and
WHEREAS, the administration has reviewed the proposed rates and charges and found
them to be reasonable and fair; and
WHEREAS, the administration has reviewed PSI's revenue and expenses for the
calendar year 1999 and for the proposed budget year of 2001 and found them to be reasonable
and fair.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The garbage and refuse service rates and charges set forth on the rate schedule
attached and incorporated herein by reference are hereby adopted effective with the first billing
after January 1, 2001.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect ten (10) days after its adoption and posting.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 28th
day of August, 2000.
