RESOLUTION 2000-108
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ENDORSING THE FIRE HYDRANT UPGRADE PHASE n
PROJECT FOR NOMINATION IN THE STATE OF ALASKA CAPITAL
PROJECT MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM AND REQUESTING STATE
GRANT FUNDING OF $75422.61 FOR THE PROJECT WITH A LOCAL
MATCH OF $74,578.00 FROM THE WATER-SEWER UTILITY AND
GENERAL FUND.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward is an eligible municipality to apply for the State of Alaska
FY2002 Capital Project Matching Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration is recommending one project this year, which is to
replace, raise, move or add hydrants; and
and
WHEREAS, part of the project establishes drafting sites where water lines are not available;
WHEREAS, to obtain the State of Alaska grant of$75,422.61, the City must make a match
of$74,578.00, for a project total of$150,000.61;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council endorses the hydrant upgrade Phase II project for the State of
Alaska Capital Project Matching Grant Program and authorizes the City Manager to apply for State
grant funding of$75,422.61 for the project, with a local match of$74,578.00 from the Water-Sewer
Utility and General Fund.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 25 day
of September, 2000. .
