HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2000-115 I I I Sponsored by: Janke CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2000-115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROVING THE ADDITION OF E FLOAT TO TRANSPAC MARINAS, INCORPORATED'S MATERIAL SUPPLY CONTRACT FORAN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $876,368.80 WHEREAS, on September 6,2000, the Port and Commerce Advisory Board (pACAB) considered an administration proposal to sell a revenue bond to fund E float replacement during the scheduled Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project; and WHEREAS, the bond would be paid using a passenger tariff assessed to all businesses carrying passengers for hire out of the Seward Small Boat Harbor; and WHEREAS, recognizing the needs of smaller businesses, the P ACAB recommended to City Council a bond of $3 million to replace E float and build two fish cleaning stations; and WHEREAS, on September 11, 2000, the City Council passed two resolutions; the first (2000-093) approving a change to the Port and Harbor Tariff instituting a Passenger Fee and the second (2000-094) authorizing the sale ofa $3 million bond to fund replacement ofE float and to build two fish cleaning stations; and WHEREAS, on July 28, 2000 the City Council passed Resolution 2000-075 authorizing Transpac Marinas Incorporated (Transpac) to provide concrete floats for the Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project; and WHEREAS, Transpac provided an add alternative with it's proposal to add E float to the contract; and WHEREAS, this proposal would be added to the current contract for an amount not to exceed $876,368.80; NOW, THEREFORE, BE 11 MESOL VED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, tBat: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue Change Order Number 2 to the existing contract with Transpac Marinas, Incorporated, and issue appropriate Notice(s) to Proceed for the supply ofE float sections. Section 2. The amount of this change order is not to exceed $876,368.80. THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2000-115 Section 3. This resolution shall take effect on October 12, 2000, provided Resolution 2000- 094 becomes effective.
