RESOLUTION 2000-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 2 TO TRYCK
NYMAN HAYES INCORPORATED'S ENGINEERING SERVICES
CONTRACT TO ADD TWO FISH CLEANING STATIONS FOR AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,075
WHEREAS, on September 6,2000, the Port and Commerce Advisory Board (pACAB)
considered an administration proposal to sell a revenue bond to fund E float replacement during the
scheduled Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project; and
WHEREAS, the bond would be paid using a passenger tariff assessed to all businesses
carrying passengers for hire out of the Seward Small Boat Harbor; and
WHEREAS, recognizing the needs of smaller businesses, the P ACAB recommended to City
Council a bond of $3 million to replace E float and build two fish cleaning stations; and
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2000, the City Council passed two resolutions; the first
(2000-093) approving a change to the Port and Harbor Tariff instituting a Passenger Fee and the
second (2000-094) authorizing the sale of a $3 million bond to fund replacement ofE float and to
build two fish cleaning stations; and
WHEREAS, Tryck Nyman Hayes, Incorporated has provided a proposal to add to the
existing engineering service contract for the Small Boat Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital
Project (approved by the City Council in Resolution 99-143) for design of these fish cleaning
stations; and
WHEREAS, this proposal would be added as Task #6 to the current contract for an amount
not to exceed $60,075;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to issue Change Order Number 2 to the
existing contract with Tryck Nyman Hayes, Incorporated, and issue appropriate Notice(s) to
Proceed for the design oftwo fish cleaning stations in accordance with the attached proposal.
Section 2. The amount of this change order is not to exceed $60,075.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect on October 12, 2000, provided Resolution 2000-
094 becomes effective.
