RESOLUTION 2000-123
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, TO APPROPRIATE $20,942.57 FROM CITY OF SEWARD
INSURANCE PROCEEDS, AS A DONATION TO THE SEWARD ROTARY
CLUB
WHEREAS, the Seward Rotary Club constructed a public pavilion on the Lagoon in Benny Benson
Park as a gift to the people of Seward that was destroyed by fire in July 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Seward Rotary Club has requested the total $20,942.57 from the funds which the
City received from insurance recovery from the loss; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward desires to donate $20,942.57 to the Seward Rotary Club for the
purpose of replacing the pavilion; and
WHEREAS, Seward Rotary Club has expressly promised that it will hold the City harmless during
the reconstruction and indemnity the City; and
WHEREAS, the City may take ownership when the project is completed and accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to direct the Finance Department to donate to the
Seward Rotary Club the amount of$20,942.57.
Section 2. $20,942.57 is appropriated from 101-1410-5371 Insurance Recovery to 101-
1191-5610 Contract Services.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska this 9th day
of October, 2000.
