RESOLUTION 2000-158
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A GRAVEL EXTRAC-
TION AGREEMENT AT A RATE OF $O.50/CU. YD. WITH ALBERT SCHAFER
FOR MATERIAL USED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE EXTENSION OF
THE JAPANESE CREEK LEVEE
WHEREAS, Albert Schafer has granted an easement on his property for the construction
of an extension of the Japanese Creek Levee; and
WHEREAS, Schafer has warranted that he owns the subject property and the gravel; and
WHEREAS, as part of the contract with CIC, Inc. the Levee will be constructed using
material located within and to the west ofthe 100 ft. construction easement granted by Mr. Schafer;
and
WHEREAS, Schafer has agreed to a gravel extraction agreement for purposes of
construction of the Levee at a rate of $0.50/cubic yard; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the amount of gravel needed from this area to build the
Levee is approximately 40,000 cubic yards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a gravel extraction agreement with
Albert Schafer at the rate of $0.50/cubic yard for gravel to be used in the construction of the
Japanese Creek Levee extension.
Section 2. Money for this contract is available from Account 666-6661-5930.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
