<br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD <br />RESOLUTION 2004-01 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, PORT AND <br />COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD, RECOMMENDING CHANGES TO THE <br />PORT AND HARBOR TARIFF REGULATIONS IN SUPPORT OF <br />COMMERCIAL FISHERIES TO ENCOURAGE ECONOMIC GROWTH <br />AND DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward has sought to promote and increase the utilization of the <br />Port facilities in support of the commercial fishing industry; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward receives significant benefits, direct and indirect, by way of <br />raw fish and sales taxes from commercial fishing vessels utilizing the port; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the commercial fishing industry provides year-round employment, directly <br />related to the industry and indirectly related to support services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the quality of life for the citizens of Seward and surrounding areas is a direct <br />result of a stable year round economy. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE PORT <br />AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1.
