<br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD <br />RESOLUTION 2004-05 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, PORT AND <br />COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF <br />PHASE I OF SEWARD SMALL BOAT HARBOR PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT GUIDE (THE GUIDE) AND PRELIMINARY PROJECT <br />BUDGET. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Seward is progressing with renewal and expansion of the Small <br />Boat Harbor according to the Guide; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a key component of this Guide is the East Harbor Expansion in partnership <br />with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), a project that has been in development for over <br />twenty years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the USACE has bid the East Harbor Expansion Project and is ready to award <br />the construction contract to Wilder Construction Incorporated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after completion of the Preliminary Design Study Report and the Guide, both <br />including many months of public meetings and input; a layout for the East Harbor Expansion basin <br />was developed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 50% schematic design and layout for the expansion is complete per the <br />public input received and plans approved by the Port and Commerce Advisory Board and City <br />Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this plan would incorporate using concrete floats. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE PORT <br />AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1.
