HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2004-005 CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD RESOLUTION 2004-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF PHASE I OF SEWARD SMALL BOAT HARBOR PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT GUIDE (THE GUIDE) AND PRELIMINARY PROJECT BUDGET. WHEREAS, the City of Seward is progressing with renewal and expansion of the Small Boat Harbor according to the Guide; and WHEREAS, a key component of this Guide is the East Harbor Expansion in partnership with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), a project that has been in development for over twenty years; and WHEREAS, the USACE has bid the East Harbor Expansion Project and is ready to award the construction contract to Wilder Construction Incorporated; and WHEREAS, after completion of the Preliminary Design Study Report and the Guide, both including many months of public meetings and input; a layout for the East Harbor Expansion basin was developed; and WHEREAS, the 50% schematic design and layout for the expansion is complete per the public input received and plans approved by the Port and Commerce Advisory Board and City Council; and WHEREAS, this plan would incorporate using concrete floats. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, THAT: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Seward resolves to approve Phase I of the Small Boat Harbor Planning and Development Guide and preliminary project budget as attached hereto and incorporated by reference.
