HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2002-065 I I I Failed Sponsored by: Janke CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2002-065 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, SUPPORTING REMOVAL OF THE COTTONWOOD TREE LOCATED IN HOBEN PARK WHEREAS, the cottonwood tree located in Hoben Park has become a liability; and WHEREAS, due to high winds the cottonwood tree located in Hoben Park could fall or have large branches fall; and WHEREAS, if the tree falls it could damage vehicles, or injure/kill pedestrians; and WHEREAS, if branches from the tree fall they could damage vehicles, or injure/kill pedestrians; and WHEREAS, City resources are expended to inspect the tree, monitor its health, and provide ongoing maintenance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. Council supports removal of the cottonwood tree from Hoben Park. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd day of July 2002.
