CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2002-066
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE
STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
PUBLIC FACILITIES (DOT&PF) $2.9 MILLION GRANT FOR THE
HARBOR EASTWARD EXPANSION PROJECT AND APPROPRIATING
THE GRANT TO THE CAPITAL PROJECT FUND.
WHEREAS, The City of Seward solicited the DOT &PF for financial partnership with the
East Harbor Expansion Project; and
WHEREAS, This partnership request resulted in a $2.9 million authorization in the FY2000
state budget; and
WHEREAS, The grant agreement has been in the process since that time and was received
by the City on July 12,2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept the $2.9 million DOT &PF grant
to the Harbor Eastward Expansion Proj ect grant revenues account 274-2741-4680-0100 and
enter into an agreement for the grant in the form as attached hereto.
Section 2. $2.9 million is appropriated to the Harbor Eastward Expansion Project
expense accounts no. #274-2741-5XXX.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe City of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of July 2002.
