Home My WebLink AboutRes2002-070 I I I Sponsored by: Janke CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2002-070 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING REIMBURSABLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, the State Office of History and Archaeology has reimbursable matching grant funds available for Certified Local Governments to attend the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions San Antonio Forum 2002 on August 1-4; and WHEREAS, the conference registration and travel expenses will be reimbursed one hundred percent by the grant because the Commissioner's and staff time traveling to and attending the conference provides the City's 40% match; and WHEREAS, one member of the Historic Preservation Commission and one staff member have expressed and interest in attending the San Antonio Forum 2002; and WHEREAS, due to the financial burden ofthese costs, the Commission has requested that the City provide the initial funds for the conference travel and registration; and WHEREAS, the City of Seward will be one hundred percent reimbursed for the appropriated funds through the State Office of History and Archaeology grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Council hereby accepts the reimbursable Travel Grant from the State of Alaska, Office of History and Archaeology in the amount of $4,010.40; to provide travel expenses and registration to Grant Revenue Account Number 271-2718-4680-0200, appropriates $2,673.60 in matching funds from the General Fund fund balance account number 101-0-3070-0271, and authorizes expenditures totaling $6,684.00 from the Historic Preservation Fund Number 271-2718- 5 XXX. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd day of July, 2002.
