A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN
EXTENSION OF A SPECIAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF SEWARD AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
PROVIDING DISPATCH AND CLERICAL SERVICES TO PUBLIC
SAFETY EMPLOYEES IN THE SEWARD AREA FOR FORTY EIGHT
THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($45,500.00)
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has entered into an agreement for the past thirteen (13)
fiscal years to provide dispatch and clerical services to Alaska Slate Troopers and Fish and Wildlife
Protection Officers in the Seward Community; and
WHEREAS, the amount of compensation for dispatch services has been Forty Eight
Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars ($48,500.00); and
WHEREAS, the attached extension would continue the services al the current rate through
June 3Q 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign an extension of a Special Services
contract between the Cily of Seward and the Department of Public Safety providing dispatch and
clerical services [o public safety employees in the Sewazd area for Forty Eight Thousand and Five
Hundred Dollars ($48,500.00).
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

day of August, 2008.

Agenda Item: Extension of Special Services Contract
between the Department of Public Safety and the City of Seward
BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION:
The City of Seward has entered into an agreement for the past ten fiscal yeazs to provide dispatch and
clerical services to the Alaska State Troopers and Pish and Wildlife Protection Officers in the
Seward community. The amount of compensation for that contract has been $48,500. The attached
extension would continue the services at the current rate through June 30, 2009.
CONSISTENCY CHECKLIST:
Where applicable, this resolution is consistent with the Seward City Code, Charter, Comprehensive
Plans, Land Use Plans, Strategic Plan and City Council Rules of Procedures.
F[SCAL NOTE:
The City of Seward will receive the sum of $48,500 from the State of Alaska for this contract. These
funds have been anticipated and are already included in the 2008 budget.
