RESOLUTION 2008-109
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING (GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2500 FROM
THE ANIERIC:4N LIBRARY ASSOCIATION AND THE FF,TZER
INSTITUTE AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, The American Library Association (ALA) and the Fetzer Institute, as part of its
Campaign for Love & Forgiveness, created Let 's~ Talk About lt: Love & Forgiveness, a scholar-led
reading and discussion program for libraries interested in exploring themes of love and forgiveness
in everyday life through classic and contemporary literahrre; and
WHEREAS, a grant was submitted with a plan to participate in the program selecting the
Love and Forgiveness in the face ofthe F,ne~ny theme; and
WHEREAS, The American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office, in
collaboration with the Fetzer Institute's Campaign for Love & Forgiveness. annow~ced that Seward
Community Library Museum was one of 50 libraries to receive a $2,500 grant to support
implementing the Let's Talk About ft' Love & Forgiveness reading and discussion program in
Seward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SE«'ARD, ALASKA, that:
Section l . The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $2500 of grant funds into Use
2008 library budget.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, U~is 27`x'
day of October 2008.
