CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2009-016 <br />WHEREAS, landscaping, painting, installation of bench and picnic tables, rock facade on <br />barbeque, handicap walkway and other work will be completed by volunteers, staff and City of <br />Seward equipment; and <br />V-'HEREAS, the City of Seward has $195,000 from the State of Alaska and the promise of as <br />much as $150,000 from the Alaska SeaLile Center Waterfront Development Fund contingent on <br />public involvement to build the pavilion. <br />NOW', THEREFORE, BE IT RF.SOL.VGD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THF. CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br />Section I. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate a contract with Harmon <br />Construction for the construction the Adams Street waterfront pavilion in an amount not to exceed <br />$312,000. <br />Section 2. Funding in the amormt of $345,000 is hereby appropriated as follows: 1) <br />$195,000 from State grant funds account no. 811-8110-4680-0200; and 2) $150,000 from Other <br />grant funds account no. 81 1-8110-4680-0900 to account for proceeds Isom a grant from the Alaska <br />Scalife Center, for a total of $345,000 in project costs allocated as follows: 3) $312,000 to <br />infrastructure account no. 811-8110-5925; and $33,000 to materials and supplies and contracted <br />sen~ices account no. 811-8110-5440,5390 for materials and labor. <br />Section 3. Moving forward with this project and contract with Ham~on Coustntction will be <br />contingent on receipt of written commitment from the Alaska SeaLife Center, of their willingness to <br />contribute $1 X0,000 to this project and approval by council of a final contract. <br />Section 4.
