P S OF G,. The Senior Administrative Assistant will supervise the two (office) administrative assistants, while the Deputy Harbormaster will supervise the 5 Harbor Worker Its and the Harbor Worker III. Supervisory personnel shall have the responsibility and authority to: - Implement personnel policies, rules and regulations in the units under their supervision -Take corrective action concerning employees under their supervision and make recommendations as to hiring, firing, transfer, promotions, and personnel evaluations -Train new employees and participate in the development of other employees - Evaluate employee performance - Participate in the grievance procedures as specified. The Senior Administrative Assistant is the best candidate to complete personnel evaluations and perform other supervisory duties for the Harbor office administrative assistants. Billing, accounting practices, records retention, and other office duties can not be effectively evaluated by the Deputy Harbormaster. Therefore it is recommended to reassign supervisory duties from the Deputy Harbormaster to the Senior Administrative Assistant, reducing the range for the Deputy Harbormaster to a range 16.5 -18.5 and increasing the range for the Senior Administrative Assistant to a range 12 -14.
