A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY!
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAG TO
ENTER INTO A CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT WI THE
MOST QUALIFIED AND RESPONIBLE BIDDER OR AN
AMOUNT NOT -TO- EXCEED $58,768.00 FUNDE I BY THE
EECBG GRANT FOR THE WINDOW -ND DOOR
REPLACEMENT FOR THE CITY HALL, FI '4 HALL, AND
PUBLIC WORKS BUILDINGS (winner and amou t will be determined
after September 24 bid opening — laydown will be 1 ovided at the Council
Meeting)
WHEREAS, Resolution 2010 -060 was app •ved on July 12, 2010 and the City
Council authorized the City Manager to enter in • a Grant Agreement with the Alaska
Energy Authority Community Block Grant (E BG) and to accept grant funds in the
amount of $115,800 to the Energy Grant Fund umber 306 - 3062 - 4680 -0100; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward • as awarded grant money to improve energy
efficiency throughout the city and Res. tion 2010 -060 authorized the City Manager to
purchase the equipment and supplies • eluded in the grant application scope of work and
to pursue contracted services; and
s„ WHEREAS, the grant . ocated up to $58,768.00 for several windows and four
i '"" door replacements in the City all, Fire Hall and Public Works building as specifically
defined in the scope of work and
WHEREAS, the ity developed a competitive bid package for the windows and
doors scope of work a.. advertised in accordance with SSC6.10.210 and SCC6.10.215;
and
WHERE • , contractors collected bid packets and contractors
submitted bids t' the City Clerk's office by 5p.m on September 23 and
WH r ' AS, the Public Works Department determined there was one responsive,
qualified, 4w bidder to proceed with a contract award; and
• HEREAS, was the lowest qualified and responsive bidder; and
WHEREAS, the window and door replacement cannot take place until the
c• tract is awarded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA:
Section 1. It is in the public interest to authorize the city manager to enter into a
contract with for window and door replacement in City facilities.

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorize. to enter into an agreement, in
substantial form as presented at this meeting, with to provide
the window and door replacements at City Hall, e Fire Hall and Public Works as
defined in the scope of work.
Section 3. Funding in an am. nt not -to- exceed $58,768.00 is hereby
appropriated to the Energy Grant Fund ac•.unt number 306 - 3062 -5390.
Section 4. This resolution sl .11 take effect immediately upon its adoption.
