CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br /> RESOLUTION 2010 -098 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br /> ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br /> CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER/GENERAL <br /> CONTRACTOR SERVICES FOR THE LIBRARY MUSEUM <br /> REPLACMENT PROJECT WITH PCL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, <br /> INC. AND APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br /> $42,900 <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Seward City Code 6.10.310 the City of Seward <br /> submitted a request for proposals for Construction Manager /General Contractor (CM /GC) <br /> services for the library museum replacement project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City received ten proposals and reviewed the proposals based on the <br /> criteria approved by Council and included in the RFP; Similar Project Experience, Project Team <br /> and Key Personnel Experience, Management Plan, Pre - construction Services Plan, Value <br /> Engineering /Project Estimating, Quality Control, Facility Management and Preventative <br /> Maintenance Plan, Capacity, Claims History, Price Proposal- Percentage Based Fee, and Price <br /> Proposal Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Pre - Construction Services; and <br /> Cr WHEREAS, following the review and evaluation, a short list of proposals, which most <br /> nearly met the requirements and received the most points under the selection criteria approved by <br /> Council, was developed in accordance with SCC 6.10.335; and <br /> WHEREAS, upon receiving the clarifying information, PCL Construction Services <br /> received the most points and remained the highest ranked of the proposers; and <br /> WHEREAS, PCL has submitted a fee proposal to provide CM /GC services through <br /> design development for thirty -nine thousand dollars ($39,000); and <br /> WHEREAS, an additional 10% contingency is being included for a total amount not to <br /> exceed forty two thousand nine hundred dollars ($42,900); and <br /> WHEREAS, included with the RFP was notice to the contractor that the GMP for <br /> Construction Services will return to Council for approval and if the City of Seward was unable to <br /> reach agreement on the GMP with the pre - construction services contractor, the City would <br /> proceed with a different procurement method and /or a different contractor. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that: <br />
