RESOLUTION 2012 -044
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN
EXTENSION OF A SPECIAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF SEWARD AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
PROVIDING DISPATCH AND CLERICAL SERVICES TO PUBLIC
SAFETY EMPLOYEES IN THE SEWARD AREA FOR FORTY -EIGHT
THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($48,500.00)
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has entered into an agreement for the past fifteen (15) fiscal
years to provide dispatch and clerical services to Alaska State Troopers and Fish and Wildlife
Protection Officers in the Seward Community; and
WHEREAS, the amount of compensation for dispatch services has been forty -eight thousand
and five hundred dollars ($48,500.00); and
WHEREAS, the attached extension would continue the services at the current rate through
June 30, 2013.
r.. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign an extension of a Special Services
contract between the City of Seward and the Department of Public Safety providing dispatch and
clerical services to public safety employees in the Seward area for Forty Eight Thousand and Five
Hundred Dollars ($48,500.00).
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 25`
day of June 2012.

Agenda Item: Extension of Special Services Contract between the Department of Public
Safety and the City of Seward
BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION:
The City of Seward has entered into an agreement for the past 15 fiscal years to provide dispatch and
clerical services to the Alaska State Troopers and Fish and Wildlife Protection Officers in the
Seward community. The amount of compensation for that contract has been $48,500. The attached
extension would continue the services at the current rate through June 30, 2013.
INTENT: To authorize the City Manager to sign an extension of a Special Services contract
between the City of Seward and the Department of Public Safety.
