HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2013-017 Sponsored by: Applicant CITY OF SEWARD,ALASKA PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION 2013-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, GRANTING A SECOND SIX (6) MONTH EXTENSION TO CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 2012-02, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS, ISSUED TO LEIF OLSON FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN RV/CAMPER PARK ON THAT PORTION OF GOVT. LOT 1 LYING EAST OF THE SEWARD HIGHWAY AND THE ALASKA RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY, WITHIN THE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ZONING DISTRICT, LOCATED AT 2608 SEWARD HIGHWAY WHEREAS, on August 21, 2012 the Planning and Zoning Commission approved Resolution 2012-12 granting a Conditional Use Permit to Leif Olson for the development of an RV/Camper Park on that portion of Govt. Lot 1 lying east of the Seward Highway and the Alaska Railroad right of way, within the Resource Management Zoning District, located at 2608 Seward Highway; and WHEREAS, the Seward City Code (SCC) 15.10.320 G (1) stipulates an approved Conditional Use Permit lapses six (6) months after approval if no building permit is procured or if the allowed use is not initiated; and WHEREAS, (SCC) 15.10.320. G (2) states the Commission may grant time extensions not to exceed six (6) months each upon the finding that circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the CUP; and WHEREAS, on August 24, 2013 Mike Insalaco, on behalf of Leif Olson, requested a second six month extension of CUP 2012-02, stating within the request there had been no changes to the original plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission that: Section 1. The Commission finds that circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant reconsideration of the Conditional Use Permit issued to Leif Olson for the development of an RV/Camper Park on that portion of Govt. Lot 1 lying east of the Seward Highway and the Alaska Railroad right of way, within the Resource Management Zoning District, located at 2608 Seward Highway. Section 2. Conditional Use Permit 2012-02, issued to Leif Olson on August 31, 2012 is hereby extendedintil February, 2014. Section 3. This&solution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
