HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1980-004 r 1/14/80 klr CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 80-4 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING RATES FOR GARBAGE AND REFUSE REMOVAL SERVICES FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1980 WHEREAS, the City of Seward has accepted the bid of Seward Services for garbage and refuse removal services within the city for the contract period beginning January 1, 1980 and ending December 31, 1984; and WHEREAS, Section 12-19 of the Seward City Code requires garbage and refuse charges to be fixed by resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. Garbage and refuse removal service charges for the period commencing January 1, 1980 shall b~ established by class as follows: Class 1. Business, including dentists, physicians and clinics: Pickups/week First Can Each Additional Can 1 Six dollars and twenty cents Two dollars and eighty cents 2 Twelve dollars and forty cents Five dollars and fifty cents 3 Eighteen dollars and sixty cents Eight dollars and six cents 4 Twenty-four dollars and eighty cents Ten dollars and fifty- four cents 5 -Thirty-one dollars Thirteen dollars and two cents 6 Thirty-seven dollars and twenty cents Fifteen dollars and fifty cents Offices (wastepaper only), collection: Three dollars and eighty-five cents Class 2. Weekly collections: Residences, seven dollars and seventy-five cents; Resident pack-out service, ten dollars and five cents per month (can must be easily accessible and within a reasonable distance from the alley, street, or utility easement) at the discretion of the garbage contractor; Apartments (more than two units having common cans), seven dollars and seven cents per month for each unit on individual billing; Six dollars and sixty- four cents per month for each unit for single (landlord) billing and central pick-up. Pack-out service, one dollar and eighty-six cents additional per unit. Pack-out service provided at the discretion of the garbage contractor. Class 3. Special Services: -1- r , In the event the city or the contractor is requested to enter the customers property and/or premises to remove garbage, except pack-out service, which is a residential service only, such service may be performed and the charge shall be twenty-five percent over the regular rate. Class 4. Vacant or Unoccupied Dwellings and/or Residences: There shall be no charge for residences that are vacant. Prior arrange- ments shall be made with the city by making written application for garbage service to be discontinued because of unoccupancy, provided the residence is unoccupied three weeks or longer in anyone month. Class 5. Municipal Services: The municipal service rate per can shall be seventy-five cents. Class 6. Time and Equipment Rates: Hourly Rate: Truck and one man '--.- ( Fourty-three dollars and forty cents per hour Sixty-five dollars and twenty-nine cents per hour Truck and two men Special pickups after 5 p.m. and before 8 a.m. plus pickups on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays will be charged at 1 1/2 times regular daily rate. Class 7. Container Service: 2.7 Cu. yd. container Eight dollars and ninety-three cents per pickup Eleven dollars and seventy-eight cents per pickup 4.0 Cu. yd. container Special pickups after 5 p.m. and before 8 a.m. plus pickups on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays will be charged at 1 1/2 times regular daily rate. Minimum charge special pickups for both Class 2 and Class 6 shall be ]/2 hour of Class 6 rates. Section 2. The rates set forth in this resolution shall remain in effect until revised by further resolution.
