CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 80-28
ESTABLISHING A CUSTOM BONDED
WAREHOUSE IN SEWARD
WHEREAS, there is an immediate need for a custom bonded
warehouse; and
WHEREAS, this warehouse would attract business in the
Seward Port; and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Railroad will lease space as necessary;
and
WHEREAS, it has been agreed with the Alaska Railroad and the
U.S. Customs that initial start-up be held to a small operation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has the resources and personnel
to initially operate the custom bonded warehouse.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Seward, Alaska that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to take the necessary
action to organize a custom bonded warehouse.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate as
necessary, a lease agreement with the Alaska Railroad for necessary
space.
Section 3. The City Manager be authorized to enter into
necessary agreements with the U.S. Customs.

ALASKA, this 9th day of June, 1980.
