RESOLUTION NO. 81-28
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING
RATES FOR SEWER USE
WHEREAS, the City of Seward does own and operate a sewage collection
and treatment plant; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has adopted regu-
lations pursuant to Public Law 92-500, as amended by Public Law 95-217, which
requires the City to adopt a user charge system and levy such charges to the
users of the sewer system and/or sewage treatment facility; and
WHEREAS, the charges levied may include adequate funds for debt
retirement, maintenance, improvement and upkeep costs, yearly operating costs,
inspection, bond debt retirement, and capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, Article 24.70 of the Seward City Code requires that sewer
rates shall be fixed by resolution:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Schedule of rates for sewer use shall be established by
class as follows:
(A) Wastewater Collection and Treatment Facility Connection Fee
(one time payment)

Any user not listed above shall be billed at a fair and
equitable rate, based on a unit rate of $12.00/month
established for an average monthly flow of 10,000 gallons
with BOD and SS loading of 250 mg/1.
Section 2. The rates set forth in this resolution shall become
effective September 1, 1981.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA this 10th day of August 1981.
