HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1953-038 r I I I RESOLUTION -38 A RESOLUTION DIRECTING TAX DEED TO BE ISSUED TO THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, FOR CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF SEWARD. WHEREAS, at public auction held on the 6th day of July, 1925, in pursuance of a,n Order of Sale made and entered in the District Court for the Territory of Alaska, Third Division, on the 28th day of May, 1925, the City of Seward became the purchaser of Lot 4, in Block 32, of the OrigiIllU TO'Wllsi te of Seward, Alaska, according to the official Plat thereof, having bid therefor the amount due on said lot, including the tax, penalty, interest and coats due and delinquent thereon for the year 1924 j and WHEREAS, at public auction held on the lOth day of January, 1929, in pursuance of an Order of Sale made and entered in the District Court for the Territory of Alaska, Third Division, on the 12th day of November, 1928, the City of Seward became the purchaser of Lots 23, 24, and 25, in Block 32 of the Original Townsite of Seward, Alaska, according to the official Plat thereof, having bid therefor the amount due on each of said lots including the tax, penalty, interest and. costs due and. delinquent thereon for the year 1927 j and WHEREAS, at public auction held on the 12th day of November, 1931, in pursuance of an Order of Sale made and. entered in the District Court for the Territory of Alaska, Third Division, on the 1st day of July, 1931, the City of Seward became the purchaser of Lots 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, in Block 31, and Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, and 36, in Block 32, of the Original TO'Wllsite of Seward, Alaska, according to the official Plat thereof, having bid therefor the amount due on each of said lots including the tax, penalty, interest and costs due and delinquent thereon for the year 1930; and WHEREAS, a period long in excess of two years has elapsed since the dates of each of said respective sales and no redemption has been - 1 - r- made from them or either of them and the City of Seward is entitled to a Tax Deed or Deeds to each of said lots, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA: That RUSSELL PAINTER, as Mayor, and SIGRID STEARNS, as City Clerk, execute and deliver to the City of Seward a Tax Deed or Deeds to each of said lots hereinbefore, in this Resolution, described.
