WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of November, 1949, the United states
through the Housing and Home Finance Administrator relinquished and trans-
ferred to the City of seward all contractual rights (including the right to
revenues and other proceeds) and all propert;r ~ title and interest of the

United states in and with respect to the teaporary housing located on land

owned or controlled by" such City in Sward, Alaska and designated as Project
No. VN-5oo91 under Contract No. HA(VN-5009l) mph-l with the United states of
America, said project being known as the Seward Housing Project, and.
~EIlEAS, since that date the City of Seward has operated said
project, and
\\BERE.lS, it appears to the City Councll of the City of Seward
that private interest will provide within the near future, adequate housing
for the city of Seward, through Federal Housing Authority and. Alaska Housing
Authority projects, and
WHEREAS, the City of seward has no desire to continue to engage
in the business of housing rentals, and
WHEREAS, the Seward Housing Project has served its temporary

Narl, THEREFORE, BE IT RESlLVED, by the COIIIII1on Councll:
1. That units of the Seward Housing Project will be vacated at

2. That any and all units of the Seward Housing Project not there-
tofore vacated shall, on September 1, 1954 be vacated according to law, and
3. As such units are vacated in accordance with paragraFhs 1 and.

2 above the units shall be demolished as soon thereafter as practicable, and

in no event shall any of them be thereafter occupied as housing units.
