SISTAXCE FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Sewarc1 desires to provide for an
overall program for the future development of the community,
the preservation of property values, the prevention of con-
ditions tending to cause urban blight and the prolilotion of
the general health, safety and welfare of its citizens, and
the City Council has previous allocated funds in the amount
of $1,500 and technical services in the amount of $500 in
Resolution Noo --11;5,_ to institute such a program for one year,
and
\~HEH.EAS, the Alaska Housing Authority has proposed a
two year program to include the preparation of a Land l'se
Plan, a Thoroughfare Plan, a Community Facilities Plan and
a Public Improvement Program and Capital Budget, comprising
a Comprehensive Plan for the City of Seward at an estimatead
cost of $8,000 and which plan the Alaska Housing Authority,
under the Urban Planning Assistance Program, will undertake
to provide with the assistance of ],<'ederal funds in the amount
of $4,000, and
WHEHEAS, a Comprehensive Plan is essential to the orderly
development of the City of Seward, and
WHEREAS, a Comprehensive Plan is a part of the require-
ments of the Territorial and Federal Laws as they concern
urban renewal development,
NOlI, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Seward agrees that:

(1) The Alaska Housing Authority will advance funds
in the amount of $l,500, that being the addi-
tional amount of funds required of the city for
a two year program;
(2) The City Council of the City of Seward will in
its next budget provide the amount of $1,500 to
reimburse the Alaska Housing Authority and pro-
vide for technical services in the amount of
$500;
(J) The Mayor of the City of Seward be and is hereby
autl:orized and empowered to execute in the name of
the City of Seward all necessary contracts and
agreements to implement and carry out the objectives
of this resolution; and
(4) This resolution will becoMe~fective immediately# the
rlU8s'6overning ptlssage of Resolutions being hereby suspended.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Seward this
