I' Ii WHEREAS, a Consumers Sales Tax in the City of Seward was WHEREAS, by virtue of the provisions of said Ordinance No. 267, as amended, the revenues collected from such tax are to be expended exclusively for the pur.. poses of health, education and welfare, and, I WHEREAS, the annual municipal contribution to the Seward School System IbUdget for school support is derived from the revenue of such tax, and, WHEREAS, for a period of years such tax revenues have been insufficient to meet the increasing dollar demands of school system support, and WHEREAS it is incumbent upon the City of Seward to determine that all per- sons, firms, partnerships, corporations or associations impose, collect, and remit to the City of Seward all such taxes as may be applicable and, WHEREAS, it becomes necessary to the aforesaid determination that the boOk~ and records of account of all persons, firms, partnerships, or associations doi business in the City of Seward be audited, I NGl, 'lliEREFORE BE IT REIDLVED, and it is hereby resolved that G. O. HEADRICt., in his capacity as Chief Accountant of the City of Seward be, and he is hereby i directed as follau: I ! , 1. In conformity with Section15 3 and 10 and other applicable provisions of Ordinance No. 267, as amended, to: (a) Audit the books and records of account of the hereinafter named persons, firms, partnerships, corporation15, and associat ions far the purpose of finding the exact amount of Sale15 Tax revenue which may be due and owed by each to the City of Seward. (d) To be prepared to perform similar audits wi th respect to such other persons, firms, partnerships, corporations and associa- tions as the City Council may in future direct to the end of obtaininq complete compliance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 267 as amended. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and the rules governing the pass- age of resolutions is hereby suspended and this resolution is given immediate effect upon the day and date of its passage and approval.
