RESOLUTION 2002-075
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH DRYDEN & LARUE FORA COST NOT-TO-EXCEED
$41,000; TO DO PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING, DESIGN, CONSTRUC-
TION CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, AND CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING
SUPPORT FOR THE AKDOT/PF RESURRECTION RIVER BRIDGE
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska is rebuilding the three bridges spanning the Resurrection
River; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with the construction of the three bridges, the State will be
building Dikes under the City of Seward electrical lines on the west side ofthe bridges, reducing
clearance from the ground to an unacceptable level; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska DOT /PF has authorized the City of Seward to hire Dryden
& LaRue at a cost of$41,000 to do the engineering work required to solve the problem and allow
construction of the new bridges; and

WHEREAS, the State has agreed to reimburse the City fo~ the cost ofthe design work to be
prepared by Dryden and LaRue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF tHE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1 The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreemel;lt with Dryden &
LaRue for a cost Not-to-Exceed $41,000; to do Preliminary Engineering, Design, Construction
Contract Documents, and Construction Engineering Support for the AKDOT /PF Resurrection River
Bridge Improvement Project.
Section 2 This project will be charged to the Electric Enterprise Fund, Miscellaneous
Receivables, Account 501-0000-1100-0900.
Section 3.
This Resolution to take effect immediately upon passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 26th
day of August, 2002.
