RESOLUTION 2002-078
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
SEWARD AND THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF
ADMINISTRATION, DIVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLES THAT PROVIDES
FOR THE CITY OF SEWARD TO OPERATE THE SEWARD OFFICE OF
THE DIVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has entered into a contract with the Division of Motor
Vehicles (DMV) for many years; and
WHEREAS, the DMV pays the City of Seward a percent;;tge'ofthe revenues collected; and
WHEREAS, the amount of revenues depend on the .amount of business generated at the
Seward DMV Office, for example in 2001 approximately $5.8,564.70 was generated; and
WHEREAS, the funds paid to the City of Seward by the State of Alaska Department of
Administration are used to fund the cost of operating the Seward DMV Office; and
WHEREAS, the contract proposed would expire on June 30, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward hereby approves Resolution 2002-078, authorizing the City
Manager to enter into a contract with the State of Alaska Department of Administration, Division of
Motor Vehicles to provide for the City of Seward to operate the Seward DMV Office.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th
day of August, 2002.
