CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2002-089
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR A
LOAN FROM THE ALASKA CLEAN WATER FUND FOR
WATER AND SEWER PROJECTS RELATING TO THE
GATEWAY TO FOREST ACRES SEWER PROJECT, THE
UPGRADE AND REALIGNMENT OF THIRD AVENUE WATER
MAIN PROJECT, AND THE SEWARD AIRPORT WATER AND
SEWER EXTENSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the city of Seward seeks to obtain the necessary financial assistance
to construct a sewer system to serve the Gateway to Forest Acres residential area, to
upgrade and realign the Third Avenue Water Main, and to construct an extension of the
water and sewer system to the Airport; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is
able to offer funding through the Alaska Clean Water Fund; and

WHEREAS, the city wishes to apply for a loan from the Alaska Clean Water
Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply to the State
Department of Environmental Conservation for a loan for the Gateway to Forest Acres
Project, the Upgrade and Realignment of the Third Avenue water main Project, and the
Seward Airport Water and Sewer Extension Project.
Section 2. An additional resolution may be issued to authorize acceptance of the
loan offer from the Alaska Clean Water Fund. Further, City approval may ,be required
per City Charter and City Code.
Section 3. Acceptance of the loan will be contingent upon acceptance of the
grant approval for these projects.
Section 4. This resolution shall take affect immediately upon its adoption.
