RESOLUTION 2002-144
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TERMINATE THE
LEASE AGREEMENT WITH CIRI ALASKA TOURISM CORPORATION
(FORMERLY KNOWN AS ALASKA HERITAGE TOURS, INC.) D/B/A
KENAI FJORDS TOURS (KFT) FOR TIDELANDS ADJACENT TO THE
ALASKA SEALIFE CENTER
WHEREAS, The City of Seward entered into a lease agreement with Alaska Heritage Tours
on February 26, 1998 for certain tidal and submerged lands located adjacent to and seaward of the
Alaska SeaLife Center; and
WHEREAS, Alaska Heritage Tours discontinued use of the Premises on October 10,2000,
and wishes to terminate the Lease; and
WHEREAS, the lease allows for early termination upon agreement of the parties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to terminate the lease agreement with COO
Alaska Tourism Corporation (formerly known as Alaska Heritage Tours, Inc.) d/b/a Kenai Fjords
Tours for tidelands adjacent to the Alaska SeaLife Center, in substantial form as attached hereto and
incorporated by reference.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe City of Seward, Alaska, this 18th
day of December 2002.
