RESOLUTION 2002-145
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF CITY
MANAGER W. SCOTT JANKE AND SETTING THE TERMS FOR
HIS DEPARTURE FROM CITY EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, City Manager W. Scott Janke has tendered his written resignation to the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the agreement between the City and Janke, upon
receipt of written notice, the City may immediately terminate the relationship or require
Janke to continue for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days at his regular rate of pay from
the date of receipt ofthe notice, unless such notice is waived by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Janke has asked that he be allowed to leave his employment with the City
in 30 days unless the City Council agrees to let him go earlier.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Council accepts the resignation of City Manager W. Scott Janke
and waives the 90 day written notice.
Section 2. The employment agreement between the City of Seward and City
Manager W. Scott Janke shall terminate December 20,2002.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe City of Seward, Alaska, this
20th day of December 2002.
