RESOLUTION NO. 81-46
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT OFFER AND ASSOCIATED GRANT
INCREASE FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRO~1ENTAL
CONSERVATION FOR THE MARATHON WATER SYSTEM PROJECT
,ffiEREAS, the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation
offered a grant to the City on August 3, 1981, to be applied toward the
financing of approximately 3,000 feet of water transmission line, appropriate
valves, controls and appurentenances, and a surface water intake structure
to divert surface water into the existing potable storage and distribution
system; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation
offered a grant increase to the City on September 11, 1981, to be applied toward
the financing of the above improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City accepts the responsibility to operate and maintain
the improvements to be contructed:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized and directed to accept
the grant offer dated August 3, 1981, from the State of Alaska Department of
Environmental Conservation in the amount of $196,453
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized and directed to accept
the grant increase offer dated September 11, 1981, from the State of Alaska
Department of Environmental Conservation in the amount of $231,947.

Section 3. This resolution takes effect immediately upon its
