RESOLUTION NO. 2002-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.3 TO THE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MIKUNDA, COTTRELL & CO.
EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT TO PERFORM INDEPENDENT AUDIT
SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF SEWARD FOR CALENDAR YEAR ENDED
DECEMBER 31, 2001, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SIGN AMENDMENT NO.3
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution No. 97-063 on May 12,1997,
approving a professional services agreement with Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. (Mikunda) to perform
the independent audit of the City's financial accounting records; and
WHEREAS, the initial agreement was for a period of three years (FY1997 - FYI999),
with an option to extend two additional years (FY2000 - FY2001) upon approval of both parties;
and
WHEREAS, both parties agreed to Amendment No.1 ofthe agreement, granted by
Resolution No. 99-168 on December 13, 1999, to cover the audit of the six-month period ended
December 31, 1999 which was necessitated by a change in the City's fiscal year end from a June
to December year-end; and
WHEREAS, Amendment No.2 of the agreement was granted by Resolution No. 2000-
097 on September 11, 2000, for the audit of the calendar year ended December 31, 2000; and
WHEREAS, based on Mikunda's agreement to charge the same fee that it has for the last
five audits, their knowledge of the City's operations, and the positive working relationship that
exists between Mikunda and the City, the administration recommends extension of the
professional services agreement with Mikunda to conduct the independent audit of the City for
the calendar year ending December 31, 2001.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Amendment No.3 to the Professional Services Agreement with Mikunda,
Cottrell, and Co. is hereby approved, extending the Agreement to perform external audit services
to the City of Seward for the calendar year ending December 31, 2001.
Section 2. The city manager is authorized to sign Amendment No.3 to the Professional
Services Agreement with Mikunda, Cottrell, & Co.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
