RESOLUTION 2002-028
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE ELECTRICAL METER
READING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SEWARD AND MICHAEL
O'CONNOR INCREASING THE PER UNIT FEE OF READING ELECTRICAL
METERS AND DELIVERING DOOR HANGERS AND EXTENDING THE
AGREEMENT AN ADDITIONAL TWO YEARS
WHEREAS, on April 26, 1999 the Seward City Council approved a three year Agreement with
Michael O'Connor (Contractor) for the reading of electrical meters within the City of Seward, Alaska
Electrical Service Area; and
WHEREAS, the terms of the Agreement allow for a two year extension upon satisfactory
performance; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Department and the Electric Department have indicated that the
performance of the Contractor has been excellent and recommends that the City retain the services ofthe
Contractor; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has requested an increase in his per unit price for the reading of the
electrical meters and for delivery of door hangers as a result of increased costs for fuel and insurance; and
WHEREAS, the administration and the Contractor have negotiated an 8% increase that would be
effective May 1,2002 for the remainder ofthe two year Agreement extension, subject to approval by the
City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Amendment No.1 to the Electrical Meter Reading Agreement between the City of
Seward and Michael O'Connor increasing the per unit fees ofreading electrical meters and delivering
door hangers and extending the Agreement an additional two years is hereby approved.
Section 2. The city manager is authorized to execute Amendment No. I to the Electrical Meter
Reading Agreement between the City of Seward and Michael O'Connor.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this_25th day of
March, 2002.
