HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2002-049 I I I Sponsored by: Janke CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION 2002-049 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA GRANTING AN EXEMPTION TO CHARLES DAVID BROSSOW TO BE EMPLOYED BY THE CITY OF SEWARD IN ACCORDANCE WITH SEWARD CITY CHARTER 2.3 WHEREAS, the City Charter, Chapter 2.3, states that, "A person who holds or has held an elective city office shall not be eligible for appointment to an office or employment for which a salary is paid by the city until one year has elapsed following the term for which he was elected or appointed."; and . WHEREAS, Chapter 2.3 of the Charter also provides that, "An exception may be made with the approval of four or more members of council."; and WHEREAS, Council Member Charles David Brossow has been appointed by City Manager Scott Janke as Temporary Chief of Police; and WHEREAS, Charles David Brossow has submitted his resignation from Council effective May 14, 2002; and WHEREAS, prior to Council's approval of this appointment the Council must provide for an exception. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. Allow an exception for the employment of Charles David Brossow by the City of Seward as Temporary Chief of Police. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 13th day of May, 2002.
