CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2002-060
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FROM ALPAR
AND THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR A PARKS AND RECREATION LITTER PATROL
WHEREAS, Seward Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded a grant from
Alaskans for Litter Prevention and Recycling (ALP AR); and
WHEREAS, Seward Parks and Recreation Department has received a grant from the Kenai
Peninsula Borough Solid Waste Division; and
WHEREAS, the grant will fund youth litter patrols (and sub-grant litter patrols) consisting of
adult leaders and crews of three to five youth workers; and
WHEREAS, litter pick up is desired among community members and visitors; and
WHEREAS, beautification projects are consistent with City pl~;. and

WHEREAS, Council action is required to accept th~ g~t. an.dappr0pilate funds.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COuNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: .
Section 1. The grant totaling $2,500 from ALP AR, and a grant totaling $2000 from KPB
is hereby ACCEPTED, and $4,500 total is appropriated to the AJ-PAR' Special Project Revenue
Account No. 215-2156-4680-0900. .
Section 2. Funds totaling $4,500 are hereby appropriated to the ALP AR Expenditures,
Budget Account No. 21 5-21 56-XXXX as follows:

215-2156-5090

Social Security

Section 3.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
