RESOLUTION 2001-016
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE STATE OF ALASKA FY2001 CAPITAL
MATCHING GRANT AWARD OF $75,532, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT AND APPROPRIATING $75,532 OF STATE GRANT
REVENUES AND $404 OF GENERAL FUND FUND BALANCE FOR A
TOTAL APPROPRIATION OF $75,936 TO THE CITY HALL
FACILITIES & EQUIPMENT CAPITAL PROJECT FUND
WHEREAS, Council approved Resolution No. 99-139 on September 27, 1999 endorsing
a City Hall Facilities and Equipment project for the State of Alaska Capital Project Matching
Grant Program and authorized the City Manager to apply for State grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the State has awarded the City of Seward a FY2001 Capital Project Matching
Grant in the amount of $75,532 for the purpose of City Hall Facilities & Equipment; and
WHEREAS, the State Capital Project Matching Grant requires a local match of $14,934;
and
WHEREAS, the City's CY2000 Capital Budget "Needs List" identified several projects
that are needed to upgrade City Hall which was constructed in 1966; and
WHEREAS, it is the administration's intent to prioritize the city hall projects on the
CY2000 Capital Budget "Needs List" and complete as many projects as possible with this State
Capital Project Matching Grant
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward accepts the State of Alaska FY200 1 Capital Matching Grant
Award of$75,532 and authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Alaska
Department of Community and Economic Development
Section 2. Funds in the amount of $75,936 are hereby appropriated, $75,532 from State
Grant Revenues, account no. 667-6670-4680-0200 and $404 from the General Fund fund balance,
account no. 101-0000-3070-0667, to the City Hall Facilities & Equipment Capital Project Fund,
account no. 667-6670-5XXX.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of January, 2001.
