RESOLUTION 2001-018
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, SUPPORTING THE SEWARD (ARMY) RESORT'S CONCEPT
OF A RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY CENTER INCLUDING A BOWLING
ALLEY
WHEREAS, the Seward Resort is planning to construct a recreational activity center
which would be open to the public year round; and
WHEREAS, the center would include a 10-lane bowling alley, a video game room,
miniature golf course and a food outlet; and
WHEREAS, the City's Strategic Plan includes promotion of winter activities and a goal
to attract more public sector employment and program funding; and
WHEREAS, the operation of a bowling program has, in the recent past, proven both
successful and economically positive in Seward;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Seward supports the concept of the
Seward Resort's proposed recreational activity center.
Section 2.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska this
22nd day ofJanuary, 2001.
