RESOLUTION 2001-070
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING CHANGE 1 TO METCO, 1Ne. CONTRACT FOR
THE 4TH AVENUE FISH DITCH CULVERTS AND APPROPRIATING
$9,464.09 FROM THE FEMA FLOOD MITIGATION GRANT
WHEREAS, on April 23 , 2001 the City Council approved a contract with Metco Inc. for the
replacement of the 4th Avenue fish ditch culverts; and,
WHEREAS, extra work was required by the contractor due to an unknown bend in the
existing sewer line; and,
WHEREAS, the approved contract with Metco, including a 10% contingency, was $110,604;
and,
WHEREAS, extra work due to design changes requires an additional $8,603.72 to be paid
to the contractor, in addition to an additional $860.37 for administrative expenses to the project, both
of which are within the budgeted amount for this project
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to issue Change Order Number 1 to the
existing contract with Metco, Inc., for extra work due to design changes for an amount not to exceed
$8,603.72 and appropriate $9,464.09 from the FEMA flood mitigation grant, account no. 666-6662-
4680-0100, to the Resurrection River Stockpile Contracted Services, account no. 666-6662-5390
($8,603.72) and the Administrative Expense Account No. 666-6662-5580-0020 ($860.37).
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this29th day
of May, 2001.
