RESOLUTION 2001-074
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH TRAILBOSS, INC. TO PAVE APPROXIMATEL Y13,996
SQUARE FEET OF VARIOUS AREAS IN THE CITY AT A PRICE OF
$2.95/SQ. FT. FOR A TOTAL AUTHORIZED PRICE OF $42,000.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward Electric, Water & Sewer, Harbor Parking, Public Works and
Parks & Rec. Departments have had various projects which require digging up of the pavement and
subsequent re-paving; and,
WHEREAS, a portion of the cost will be re-billed directly to customers; and,
WHEREAS, the City will be responsible for cutting of the edges of the patches to insure a
neat match of old and new asphalt; and,
WHEREAS, Trailboss, Inc. will be responsible for site "preparation" and the laying down
2 inches of asphalt to City specifications; and,
WHEREAS, it is important that this work be completed as soon as possible since tourists are
starting to arrive in ever increasing numbers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Trailboss, Inc. to
install approximately13,996 square feet of pavement at a price of$2.95/sq. ft. for a total price not-to-
exceed $42,000.
Section 2. Funding to be obtained from FY 2001 Department budgets and a FEMA grant
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 11th day
of June, 2001.
