RESOLUTION 2001-085
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE
CITY CLERK
WHEREAS, Patrick Reilly has been employed by the City of Seward Council as the City
Clerk since August 27, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk does not participate in standard employee step increases or cost
ofliving allowances (COLA) as outlined in the Seward City Code, and any increase in pay must be
by an amendment to the employment agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has not received a step increase, or a cost of living allowance,
to his employment agreement since January 1,2000; and
WHEREAS, on March 28, 2001, Reilly was designated a Certified Municipal Clerk with the
International Institute of Municipal Clerks; and
WHEREAS, Reilly just completed a year as chair ofthe Education and Local Government
Committee of the Alaska Municipal League; and
WHEREAS, Reilly received a laudable evaluation from the City Council at his evaluation
session on June 25,2001; and
WHEREAS, in view of these accomplishments the City Council desires to increase Reilly's
salary by 3 percent and to increase his annual leave accrual rate time from sixteen and two-thirds
hours per month (two hundred hours per year) to twenty hours per month (two hundred and forty
hours per year);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The employment agreement dated August 27, 1997, between Patrick Reilly and
the City of Seward is amended as follows:
Reilly shall be paid at the rate of$54,350.00. The City Council agrees
to review Reilly's salary annually prior to the adoption of the City's
fiscal budget; and

Reilly shall accrue annual leave at a rate of twenty hours per month, or two hundred
and forty hours per year.
Section 2. The effective date of this amendment shall be July 1,2001.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 9th day
ofJuly, 2001.

City Clerk Employment Agreement
Amendment Number 4
Amendment Number 4 to the agreement for city clerk services dated August 27, 1997, between
the City Council of the City of Seward and Patrick Reilly is amended as follows:
Reilly shall be paid at the rate of$54,350.00. The City Council agrees
to review Reilly's salary annually prior to the adoption of the City's
fiscal budget; and
Reilly shall accrue annual leave at a rate of twenty hours per month,
or two hundred and forty hours per year.
Except as provided herein, all other terms and conditions of the agreement dated August 27,
1997, and any subsequent amendments, remain in force and effect.
