RESOLUTION 2001-096
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RECLASSIFY THE
ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK POSITION FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
FROM REGULAR PART-TIME TO FULL-TIME.
WHEREAS, the Administrative Clerk position is 28 hours per week; and
WHEREAS, due to this short work week, there is a constant back-load of essential job
assignments to be completed; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Fire Chief has resigned from his position, with his last day being
August 31, 2001; and
WHEREAS, with his resignation and the current/projected workload, the department is in
a very tenuous position in maintaining work and project time lines; and
WHEREAS, the job duties for the Administrative Clerk have increased in complexity and
responsibility; and
WHEREAS, due to this bringing the position to full time will not only benefit the department
during this time of staff shortage, but will allow the department to meet current and future
project/work time-lines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA.
Section L The Administrative Clerk position for the Fire Department is upgraded from
regular part-time (28 hours per week) to full-time (40 hours per week).
Section 2. The effective date ofthis upgrade will be the first day of the pay period following
the approval date of this resolution.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
