RESOLUTION 2001-100
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR THE HAULING OF THE RESURRECTION RIVER STOCKPILE
WHEREAS, a request for bids to haul the stockpile was properly advertised; and
WHEREAS, the stockpile has to be moved by October 1 st;
WHEREAS, the City has acquired a grant to pay for the hauling;
WHEREAS,. Metco, a local contractor, was within 5% of the lowest bidder, with a bid of
$4.23 per cubic yard;
WHEREAS, the amount remaining in the grant is $151,824.18, which is sufficient to haul
up to 35,000 cubic yards if required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City
of Seward with Metco, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $151,824.18 for the hauling of the
Resurrection River stockpile and appropriating the money from the FEMA flood mitigation grant,
account no. 666-6662-4680-0100, to the Resurrection River Stockpile Contracted SelVices, account
no. 666-6662-5390.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this13th day
of August, 2001.
