RESOLUTION 2001-103
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
$38,000 CONTRACT WITH WM. J. NELSON & ASSOCIATES TO
PROVIDE A DESIGN, COST ESTIMATE, AND CONSTRUCTION DOCU-
MENTS FORA PARK FACILITY AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 4TH
AND ADAMS STREETS WIDCH WILL INCLUDE A PUBLIC RESTROOM,
BUS STOP WAITING AREA, WALKWAYS AND LANDSCAPING OF THE
90 BY 100 FT. LOT.
WHEREAS, Wm 1. Nelson & Associates have proposed providing the above services for
the 4th and Adams Park Facility at a cost of$38,000; and,
WHEREAS, the design will incorporate the previously purchased Romtec Sierra IV
Restroom; and,
WHEREAS, Wm. 1. Nelson & Associates have submitted the only proposal to do this work;
and,
WHEREAS, Wm. 1. Nelson & Associates have been determined to be a responsive and
responsible responder with the proper licensing, including a local business license, insurance and
experience in designing similar projects; and,
WHEREAS,The Council has previously funded this project but additional funding will likely
be required once Wm 1. Nelson & Associates have completed the design and cost estimates since this
design cost was not part of the original estimate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Wm 1. Nelson &
Associates to provide a design, cost estimate, and construction documents for a Park Facility at the
Southwest comer of 4th and Adams which will provide a public restroom, bus stop waiting area,
walkways and landscaping of the 90 by 100 foot lot and incorporate in the design, and use, the 26
ft. by 28 ft. Romtec, Sierra IV restroom which has already been purchased for this site, at a cost of
$38,000.
Section 2. The funding for this contact is from the Fourth and Adams Park Fund, Account
No. 600-0000-3070-0000.

Section 3. This resolution to take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th day
of September, 2001.
