RESOLUTION 2001-109
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $10,591, TO DO A SURVEY AND GEOLOGIC
RECONNAISSANCE FOR THE CITY OF SEWARD ROCK QUARRY
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council has requested the Administration to prepare and
submit geologic and survey information pertaining to the quantity and quality of rock remaining in
the City Rock Quarry located in the SMIC area adjacent to the 4th of July Creek, prior to considering
long-term, exclusive lease proposals of the Quarry; and,
WHEREAS, the City received a proposal of $4, 191.00 from Shannon & Wilson, Inc. to do
the Geologic Reconnaissance for the Rock Quarry; and,
WHEREAS, the City received a proposal of $6,400.00 from Cline and Associates to do the
necessary survey work in the Quarry; and,
WHEREAS, the funding for the project will come from the General Fund Gravel Sales.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Funding for this project to be available by appropriating $10,591.00 from General
Fund Gravel Sales, account 101-0000-4690-0400, to Engineer/ Utility Manager Contracted Services,
account 101-1230-5390.
Section 2. This resolution will take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 10th
day of September, 2001.
