RESOLUTION 2001-111
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE STATE OF ALASKA GRANT OF $70,000 FOR
THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A PUBLIC TRANSIT WAITING
AREA AND PUBLIC RESTROOMS TO MEET ADA COMPLIANCE
STANDARDS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
GRANT AGREEMENT AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS
WHEREAS, the 2001 Alaska Legislature provided a $70,000 grant to the City of Seward
for the purpose of constructing a public transit waiting area and public restrooms to meet ADA
compliance standards; and
WHEREAS, the bus stop construction, which will include ADA compliant restrooms,
would be located at the corner of 4th Avenue and Adams Street; and
WHEREAS, local funds will be used in order to complete this project; and
WHEREAS, the State Grant needs to be accepted and the funds appropriated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward accepts the State of Alaska grant of$70,000 for the purpose
of constructing public transit waiting area and public restrooms to meet ADA compliance standards
and authorizes the city manager to execute a grant agreement
Section 2. Funding in the amount of $70,000 is hereby appropriated from State Grant
Revenues, account 600-6001-4680-0200, to the 4th & Adams Park Capital Project Fund, account
600-600 l-5XXX
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

of September, 2001,
