RESOLUTION 2001-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PURCHASE TWO, USED FORD F-150 TRUCKS FROM HERNDON &
THOMPSON FOR $7,000 EACH, FOR USE IN THE PARKS
MAINTENANCE DIVISION
WHEREAS, the parks and recreation department is in dire need of mechanically sound
vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the parks and recreation department has $14,000 available in the motor pool
fund for a purchase; and
WHEREAS,Herndon & Thompson have two Ford F-150 trucks available for sale for $7,000
each, which have been inspected by City Shop personnel; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to purchase these two, used vehicles rather than spend
over $12,000 each on new, lesser vehicles; and
WHEREAS, City Code ~6.1O.125 allows an exemption from competitive procurement
procedures for the purchase of used equipment when based on the public being best-served
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase two used Ford F-150 trucks from
Herndon & Thompson for $7,000 each, a total of$14,000 from the motor pool fund.
Section 2. Funds in the amount of$14,000 shall be appropriated from the Motor Pool Fund
Balance, account 102-0000-3050, to the Motor Pool Equipment, account 102-1020-5930.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 10 day
of September, 2001.
