RESOLUTION 2001-122
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH THOMAS DEVEWPMENT, INC. TO INSTALL EIGHT
HYDRANTS IN THE CITY OF SEWARD AT A COST NOT-TO-EXCEED
$38,800.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward issued a request for bids to install eight fire hydrants (6
provided by the contractor and 2 provided by the City) and received three replies; and,
WHEREAS, the low bidder was Thomas Development, an Anchorage based company, with
a bid of$38,800.00; and,
WHEREAS, these hydrants are important to the fire safety and insurance rating of the
citizens of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Thomas
Development, Inc. to install 8 fire hydrants for an amount not-to exceed $38,800.00.
Section 2. Funding for this project to be from Fire Hydrant Phase II, Contracted Services,
Account 708-7080-5930.
Section 3. This Resolution to take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th
day of September, 2001.
