RESOLUTION 2001-125
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH METCO, INe. TO PROVIDE 1000 CUBIC YARDS OF
SAND AND COVERED STORAGE FOR 800 YARDS OF THIS SAND
WHEREAS, the City of Seward issued a request for quotes to provide 1000 cubic yards of
sand and covered storage for 800 yards of this sand for the 2001-2002 winter season and the option
to renewed the contract for three additional yearly terms, and
WHEREAS, two quotes were received from local contractors - Metco and Mognak and the
quotes were evaluated ; and
WHEREAS, Metco, Inc was determined to be the low bidder for providing the sand and
covered storage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City
of Seward with Metco. for an amount not to exceed $12,000 to provide sand and covered storage
for 800 yards of this sand with funds from account 101-1314-5440.
Section 2. The contract may be renewed for three (3) additional yearly terms at the sole
option ofthe City. Total contract terms including renewal options, if exercised, will not exceed (4)
years.
Section 3. The resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of October, 2001.
